Washing your waterproof garment
Washing your waterproof garment cleans the item, revitalises the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) coating and revives breathability. It's quick and easy - turnaround time when we receive your garment is 3-5 working days, excluding return shipping.
We clean garments in dedicated washing machines which are guaranteed free of contaminants such as detergent and conditioner - such contaminants have an adverse effect on water repellency and may cause long term damage to the fabric. We only use Nikwax Tech Wash to wash the garments; non-hazardous, Tech Wash is water based and biodegradable.
Reproofing your waterproof garment
Waterproof garments require reproofing, when the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) has been worn off and the garment is no longer waterproof.
When reproofing is required, we first wash the garment as described above, before further washing the garment in Nikwax TX Direct® Wash-In, which has been specifically designed and optimised for breathable waterproof garments. Nikwax TX Direct® leaves a flexible water repellent treatment on individual fibres, allowing moisture vapour to pass through, and so maintaining breathability. As with our washing process, we use only dedicated washing machines, guaranteed free of contaminants which may harm the garment and reduce its performance.
How to send us your garment
Please be sure to read our Wash & Reproof Terms and Condition below before placing your order.
Once you have paid for the service, please pack the garment in a protective bag for the health & safety of our staff. Enclose a copy of your order invoice then send your garment using tracked postage or courier to:

Terms and Conditions
Our wash & reproof service is offered subject to additional terms & conditions (see also our main Terms and Conditions here):
Washing
- We reserve the right to charge an additional fee of £20 if a garment is extremely dirty and requires dry cleaning.
- We cannot guarantee to remove blood stains, oil stains and similar.
- If you have stained the garment accidentally, please let us know if possible the chemical which has caused the stain.
Reproofing
Our Washing Terms & Conditions (see above) apply. In addition, please note that we cannot always guarantee that it is possible to reproof your garment. In some cases your garment may have been contaminated by a chemical which cannot be removed easily and which prevents the DWR restoration process. In this case we will refund the reproof fee and charge you only for washing.
Postage
The price includes return postage within the UK using the Royal Mail 48 hour service. For orders outside the UK we reserve the right to charge additionally for postage.
