The Ozone is a lightweight, comfortable and feature-packed rucksack which works perfectly as either a winter daypack or summer multi-day walking pack. The suspended backsystem keeps your back cool and comfortable in warmer temperatures.
What is it made of?
The majority of the pack is made from a super tough yet lightweight 200D ripstop nylon with a PU backer and durable water repellent coating — this doesn't make the pack waterproof, but does mean if you get caught out it'll resist water ingress. For total waterproofing, we always recommend the use of drybags. This fabric offers the perfect balance between weight, durability and weather resistance without looking too space-agey.
What is the backsystem?
The Ozone feature's Vango's X-Air UL backsystem, an incredibly breathable and comfortable system which utilises a suspended piece of mesh to create a gap between the pack and your back. This mesh is pre-curved to suit the natural shape of your spine, while an 'X' shaped 6mm thick aluminium frame sits behind and gives the pack extra stability and structure when loaded.
What are the features?
Starting with pockets, you get a large front storage pocket which is ideal for a wet tent flysheet or overtrousers, mesh side pockets for bottles, zipped hipbelt pockets and a zipped lid pocket. Other features include walking pole attachment points, a detachable raincover and a unique compression system which pulls the weight of the pack closer to your back. Lastly, the lid can be stored inside the main compartment if the pack isn't totally filled.
